The European Parliament is currently attempting to cap bankers bonuses. It’s a modest enough proposal – a bonus capped at the level of a banker’s annual salary. Doubling your – already bloated – salary looks generous to the rest of us, still suffering from the mess these characters created.
But who do you think is opposing this?
Well, the bankers, obviously. They have overwhelmed Brussels with highly paid lobbyists to argue their case.
But it won’t surprise most of us to learn that the British government is also opposing it.
The Tory/LibDem coalition looking after its rich friends, again – though this time Dave and George may find they haven’t got enough EU friends to help them through.
