The Holt Park regeneration scheme is moving up the agenda – and not before time.
We were delighted, yesterday, to hear our Parliamentary candidate, Alex Sobel, speaking on it in the Council meeting. We share his enthusiasm. This is a real opportunity to transform and restore the Centre – and as a community hub.
At a recent meeting with Councillor Gruen, members of Adel and Wharfedale Labour Party stressed the importance of Holt Park regeneration. And, like Alex, we emphasized the need to take local residents’ views fully into account in all plans. We see the new Centre as a great opportunity – and feel that community facilities, such as a new Community Centre, should be integral to these plans.
We shall be watching the progress of plans for Holt Park closely, and making sure we have our say when the consultation starts.
But our judgements should be firmly based in yours.
So we’d like to hear from you – what do YOU think about the redevelopment of Holt Park?
The draft plans were published in July – A New Heart for Holt Park – Completing the Picture.
The easiest way to access them is through the Holt Park Tenants and Residents Association Facebook page -https://www.facebook.com/holtparktra – where they are accessible under ‘Photos’.
It’s YOUR Centre – and you’ll need to take action once the consultation begins later this month.
In the meantime, we’ll be keeping up the pressure – so make sure we know what you think.
