Next Friday, 27 September, is Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning!macmillan_coffee_morning_500

This is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event.
In 2012 115,000 people signed up, raising a record £15 million.

Adel St John the Baptist Primary School will be joining this year’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, and they need your support.

First, the children will be having a bun, and bringing their own 20p donation to Macmillan.

Then the adults’ coffee morning will run from 10.15a.m.
There’ll be tea and coffee and cakes – and all in return for a donation to Macmillan Cancer Support.

The PTA and families of children are making donations of cakes and buns on Thursday, though any offers would no doubt be welcome.
But what they really want is your support for this event, to raise lots of money for a very good cause.

For example £100 could give a mum with breast cancer a Macmillan nurse who will answer all her questions with sensitivity as well as expertise. Someone she can talk to about anything – from what to tell the children and what the side effects of her treatment might be, to the concerns she may have afterwards as life returns to normal and she gets back to work.
Someone who, by being there for mum, will help the whole family cope.

So please go along at 10.15 am on Friday 27 September and have a coffee, a cake and a chat. And make this a really successful event, raising money for this excellent cause at the same time.

Adel St John’s Primary School is at the top end of Long Causeway, on the stretch behind Sir George Martin Drive.
