Despite a torrent of cuts over the past five years from the Conservative Lib Dem Coalition the Labour led Leeds City Council has managed to maintain many fantastic municipal spaces across the city for all of us to enjoy. We are extremely lucky, here in Adel and Wharfdale to have the amazing Golden Acre Park in our very own ward. Golden Acre and the attached Breary Marsh are hotbeds of wildlife and if you are lucky you may see Deer, Foxes, Wildfowl, Squirrels and many more.

Every year Leeds City Council provide a season of summer activities across the city and a very enjoyable part of that is the “Bands in Parks” initiative. Despite the cuts Leeds City Council have managed to put this in the programme once again. Events taking place at our very own Golden Acre Park are as follows:

14th June 2015: After Hours Rauchestra
28th June 2015: Leeds Jazz Orchestra
12th July 2015: Barnsley Metropolitan Band
26th July 2015: Chris White Jazz Trio
9th August 2015: Gentle Jazz Sextet
23rd August 2015: Stroke of Genius Big Band

All events run from 2:30pm to 4:30pm and admission is free. A lovely way to spend an afternoon with family and/or friends in beautiful surroundings.
