Philip Davies MP (Shipley – Con) is not a popular man on the left (or even the centre) of the political spectrum. His constant opposition to measures tackling domestic and sexual violence are well documented. He also filibustered a bill which would have seen children given first aid training in schools, saying: “Why on earth would I allow a bill the principle of which I don’t like a second reading?”.

In the last election his majority was reduced from 9,642 to 4,681 – more than halved!

This Sunday, 10th August, Owen Jones and local Momentum activists will be campaigning and door knocking in Shipley as part of their #Unseat campaign. The event starts at 11:15am at:

Shipley & District Social Club (70 Saltaire Road, BD18 3HN)

The day will start with some brief speeches and training for anyone who’s not feeling too sure about what to do. Feel free to turn up anytime between 11:15am and 5:00pm to get involved and, as usual, there’ll be a few social activities afterwards.
