In a shameful show of political game-playing the Tories talked and talked and talked in Parliament today to avoid a full debate on allowing 16 year olds the right to vote. This move led to Deputy Speaker Eleanor Laing ruling that it wouldn’t be right to force a vote with such little time to debate.
