The New Statesman has predictions and rumours regarding what we can expect to hear from Philip Hammond later today. In brief, they suggest it will contain:

  • 300,00 new homes per annum
  • A poor economic forecast
  • Driverless cars
  • A rise in diesel fuel duty
  • Railcards for those aged 26-30
  • A budget for Brexit
  • A freeze on income tax thresholds
  • A tax on single use polystyrene goods
  • Delay to Universal Credit
  • Public sector pay rise
  • Removal of VAT for Scottish emergency services

Not very inspiring is it?
