‘Yorkshire Women of the Century’
‘Find out about Yorkshire women and organisations making a massive difference to women’s lives and society in the twentieth century. This film sets out their achievements in the context of international and local events, legal and social change.
Archive film and pictures from the period, as well as images of individual women, build up an interesting, informative and intriguing view of life and times in Yorkshire, starting when no woman had the right to vote. The final section features seven diverse young women gaining strength from the past as they face the future.
The film was commissioned by Wheatfields Hospice in Headingley, and premiered at their fundraising Women of Achievement dinner in the year 2000.’
